Course objectives

Companies are increasingly focussing their efforts on developing people internally. The shrinking labour market coupled with their understanding of the need to grow and develop their own has given rise for the need for businesses to develop mentors within the business to partner with individuals in their development.

Sometimes mentoring is seen as coaching but in reality there is a significant difference between the two. Mentoring is a long-term, relationship orientated process. Whilst development may be the basis for creating the relationship, the reality is that the mentor/mentee relationship goes much further to the mentee sharing issues that affect his / her professional and personal success with the mentor.

The Mentor Short Course develops mentors competencies so that they can successfully partner with a mentee and create a mutually valuable relationship.
